What is Great Art?

Roy Askott writes, “Great art sets up systems of attitudes which can bring about the necessary imbalance and dispersal in society whilst maintaining cultural cohesion." I have a strong desire to define great art in my own terms.

Great art holds a viewer’s interest and makes them ask questions. It has not been done before, or at least not as well. Great art is not easily forgotten.
