This photograph will be part of the Relentless Eye exhibition at the Helen Day Art Center in Stowe, VT, juried by Eirik Johnson.
Here is a gallery of the other images in the show. Every photograph was taken with a cell phone!
I've never exhibited photography before :) The online description of the show introduces an interesting outlook on the direction of photography. This is what Eirik Johnson said about his selections:

I've never exhibited photography before :) The online description of the show introduces an interesting outlook on the direction of photography. This is what Eirik Johnson said about his selections:
The mobile phone is in our pocket, in our bag, at all times. It’s small basic camera records our daily life. Where we go, what we see who we know. Then, in only a few seconds, we can send our images to friends and strangers alike throughout the world. This ability to share the human experience, to describe what we have seen with immediacy and elegant simplicity has opened the flood gates of creative opportunity. The images selected for “the Relentless Eye” reflect this creativity.
In looking through the submitted photographs, I focused on images that captured that desire to describe fleeting moments (a sublime sunlit landscape we briefly glance up to notice, a tangle of white hair photographed from behind). I chose images that push the boundaries of traditional photography (a highly pixelated or noisy nightscape of a tree, an abstract rainbow of pulsating vertical lines). I also looked for compelling portraiture that takes advantage of the intimacy a small mobile camera phone.
There were so many wonderful images submitted that it was difficult to choose the final selection for the show. I wish to personally thank everyone who submitted work for sharing their world and experience with me.
